Oregon is one of the country's most geographically diverse states. Hiking enthusiasts who visit Oregon will find trails that are suited for either an afternoon outing or an extended trek.

One of Oregon's most popular hiking destinations is Silver Falls State Park, which offers trails for both novice and expert hikers. Within the park, hikers will find the Trail of Ten Falls, a 7-mile looping trail that offers views of waterfalls ranging from 27 feet to 178 feet.

Hikers interested in mountain views can head to Mount Hood National Forest to explore the Mirror Lake Loop Trail. Along with excellent views of Mount Hood, the 4-mile route offers hikers vistas overlooking Mirror Lake.

Outside of the inland mountain areas, Oregon features coastal landscapes with rugged terrain and impressive greenery. One of the best places to experience Oregon's coast is in Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor in the southern part of the state. The 12-mile-long park features numerous hiking trails with views of geologic wonders such as Natural Bridge, Arch Rock, and Thunder Rock Cove.
